Master Sergeant Michael S. Hounshell

Served two deployments to Okinawa Japan, two deployments aboard naval ships USS Tarawa and USS Peleliu. Participating in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Restore Hope ( Somalia), Operation Determined Response (USS Cole Recovery). Received 11 personal awards a Meritorious Service Medal, (5) Navy Commendation Medals, (Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medals. Campaign awards include the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal. I served for 20 years, 5 months and 15 days and retired 31 December 2011. I entered the delayed entry program in April of 1991 and shipped to Paris Island SC for boot camp on 15 Jul 1991. I was a combat service support chief for various units.
